Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday to a very special company, Premme. I can only apologise profusely that it took me to you being one years old to give you the attention that not only you are due, but you very much deserve. It’s probably dramatic to say that you incite poetry and Shakespearean verse within me, but what can I say I am a very dramatic person. Perhaps it’s the actor in me, perhaps it’s the fact that I have been obsessed with Gabi Gregg and Nicolette Mason for years because they are some of the OG plus size babes and bloggers that I first stumbled upon on my body acceptance journey.
It’s safe to save the community was suitably shook when these two power houses came together to say that not only were they dropping their own fashion brand but it would be to fill a gap in the plus size industry when it comes to the needs and desires of plus size women. One of my favourite things about Premme is that the models on the website are actually size inclusive. Instead of most brands in which a 5 foot 8 blonde, abled bodied cis, aesthetically pleasing smaller fat woman models the clothing, meaning you have absolutely no idea what it will look like on your body. Premme models each article of clothing on a range of diverse bodies.
It’s hard to believe that in 2018 it’s actually ground breaking to have clothes models on a range of diverse bodies and heights so that we can actually know what the fit of a piece of clothing is, but I suppose for some of the bigger brands that would be a leap into rocket science. If that’s the case then brands like Premme, Plus Equals, and Zelie For She, are landing on mars and planting a flag for our countries, which to be perfectly honest sounds about accurate.
At the start of Premme’s first collection we saw incredible statement pieces and we were spoiled for choice. I am honestly heartbroken that I never managed to get my hands on anything before they sold out in their warehouse, but I am constantly hunting ebay and depop to see if I can find anything and do not worry, I will find you. Sorry, I thought I was Liam Neeson for a second.
Now in its second year of tenure Premme has decided to focus on one specific style in each of its collections, which I think is a pretty genius idea. Enter in the Marissa Set. This is made up of a short sleeved wrap top and long leg palazzo pant (trouser) which you can now purchase in a multitude of colours which include Hunter, Yellow, Pumpkin and Brushstroke. Let’s be real it was pretty ingenious to start off with a two piece set like this which not only works for Autumn/Winter trends, but could happily and merrily bleed into the rest of your year and will work for pretty much any occasion while also separately be easy to pair with whatever article of clothing you happen to be vibing with at the time.
Considering that everything is under a $100, with some sets on sale depending on the colour and sizing, I feel about ready to make my first order or at the very least stick it on a festive season wish list for someone in my life who loves to gift it to me. Teehee, hee. Impressed is an under statement when it comes to Premme, I have watched in the shadows, much like Batman, as I have seen the brand and its two fabulous owners go from strength to strength with their fashion brand and designs, and I honestly can’t wait to see them roll things out on a much grander scale in the future.
There’s no doubt we’ll be seeing these designs and this name in major retailers and some point in the not too distant future and honestly you will find me waiting in whatever real life or virtual line with my coin purse open, ready to spill out its contents. Another plus is that they are shipping international and though it is your responsibility to verify things like customs and duties charges, I think in the long run it will be worth it when you receive your order.
Offering bold, trendy and fashion forward options I can see Premme becoming the high demand high fashion boutique brand it is destined to be, and I await the day we see these pieces on high power plus size babes at red carpet events. Psst. Look out for the new “we wear pink on Wednesdays” co-ord that’s about to drop from the new collection.
Oh Premme, you tease!
