So if you read my review for the best pantos in the UK you will remember that I finished panto myself. Oh yes I have! Sorry, I could not resist. One of the things that comes with being the fairy godmother is being covered in heavy makeup and glitter. Let us face it, that is great for a while, but add in sickness, stress, anxiety, tiredness, your period, dehydration, a relentless schedule and baking lights on heavy rotation, and what you will end up with is “mash up” skin.
It has been bad. Y’all I mean it has been really bad. My skin has been the worst it has ever been and for someone who usually holds pride in my clear skin, I have been learning to adjust to the phase it is in right now. Accepting it, not beating myself up or shaming myself for it, and just being open to trying out different Thalgo products to see what it responded to.
Revamping My Regime with Thalgo
There has not been a moment of rest for my skin. If any of you have been following me, you will know I have been working pretty much nonstop. It became increasingly obvious I needed to rehaul my regime. After asking for tips and recommendations, enter Thalgo stage left!

My Thalgo Skin Care Review
I started off using the mask. Depending on my mood, a thick mask can just be too much. I need something that is going to do the job without feeling like I have to smear on copious amounts. Because these products are all marine based, they are water based. This is great because they are not thick and overbearing. The mask went on smoothly, dried relatively quickly, and washed off without any dryness or residue. Lush!
Is Thalgo a good brand for darker skin tones? The Perfect Matte Moisturiser is something I am obsessed with. Now ask any black girl and she will tell you that we will not just use any face cream. It has to be right. Not too heavy, not too light, because then our face can get ashy and the balance is just hard to crack. But for me, I think they might have done it. A couple of squeezes is enough to cover my face. The consistency is not too heavy and does not add any extra oil to my face.
The Purifying Range: A Thalgo Facial Review
Face washes can be equally as tricky for me but I have really been enjoying the Purifying Gel because it is not too harsh. I found it has been great for removing those last particles of dirt and makeup that lingers. I nicknamed it, glitter be gone!
Last up is the Purifying Lotion. I am new to the cleansing after washing your face and before moisturising, and I can honestly say it has changed the game. This particular Thalgo product has mattifying abilities that made me feel as if I had already put a primer on! It really helps to cleanse the skin and I found it is quite good at tightening my pores.
Overall, the products are great for those who have a combination of oily and dry skin. The water base means you are getting the hydration your skin sorely needs without adding more oil.
