In honour of Black History Month in the US, we’ve decided to compile a list of some of our favourite American-based black influencers, bloggers, activists, Instagrammers, writers, models and more. Some of those featured are hugely popular, and others are unappreciated diamonds who deserve more attention. This is Part 2 of this feature because when I started to compile the list there were just so many awesome babes to feature that I had to split up the post so it wasn’t ridiculously long. I implore you to check out their Instagrams and view more of their work, all of these folks are wonderful and you should be following them.

Stacey not only turns out incredible fashion looks on Instagram she also shares amazing brightly coloured makeup and unfiltered photos of her body and skin to show you reality.

Ashleigh Nicole Tribble is an activist we should all be looking to. Her commentary on the plus size industry and its issues with racism are so important. Go follow her and listen.

Essie Golden is another of the original plus size influencers. She created the #goldenconfidence hashtag and is one of the most sought after bloggers in the industry.

Thamarr has a style that is so distinctly ‘her’, all pastels tones and smiles. Her feed just makes me happy!

I’m gonna dance like everyone’s watching! . . . I’ve been called fat my entire life I’ve had to physically defend myself against bullies who thought it was ok to lay their hands on me. I’ve been called some pretty disgusting things and at one point in my life I felt like there really was no way out of my thoughts and feelings. But I grew from those things, why did I let them calling me fat make me feel defeated when I was capable of amazing despite my size, why did I give their words so much power over myself? And why didn’t I say enough was enough sooner? I can’t dwell on my past but I wouldn’t change it for anything because it taught me to be to be tenacious, it taught me that the only opinion that matters about myself is my own. Saucyé West is a plus-size model, influencer and fat activist. She’s absolutely stunning and I love the way she styles things.

KaM Felice is someone new to me, and I am already obsessed. Her grey hair is just everything! She’s a teacher who shares a lot of workwear looks, something not a lot of bloggers do, and I just want to be her friend.

Amina Mucciolo is the most colourful person I have ever seen! Amina runs the TasselFairy shop, she’s been selling unicorn themed party and home supplies since long before it was trendy too, and her YouTube channel contains all the info you could ever need for how to make your hair as bright and fabulous as hers is.

Michael-Anthony is a fashion stylist and blogger. He is the founder of Men Of Size, which is a fashion and lifestyle initiative specifically designed for trend-led plus size men. He is also the co-founder of His Big, Her Plus, with his partner Lissa Mathieu, focusing on plus size couple’s styling.
