Danielle Vanier

I have always been a massive fan of Danielle Vanier. Her blog was one of the first that I came across when I initially discovered that plus size bloggers even existed. Danielle is an incredibly stylish woman, who has such a knack for putting a cool outfit together. It was no surprise to me to learn that she has turned her hand to designing with navabi.

We first saw her design skills come to the fore when she collaborated with Marks & Spencer. Although there weren’t many pieces, each one could be considered a classic and naturally, that has continued with the recent launch of her navabi collection.

navabi

For those of you not familiar with navabi, they are a proper body positive brand in every sense of the word. This is not just lip service, they preach loud and they absolutely practice what they preach.  From driving around London in lorries carrying billboards of fat babes in bikinis for their “Beach Body Ready” campaign, to donating clothes for 300+ women escaping domestic violence, navabi have always been on the frontline of fashion. Crucially, time after time, they put their money where their mouth is.

Influencer collaborations.

Initially working with blogger turned author, Bethany Rutter who has to date released two vibrant, colourful collection with them, navabi have, in collaboration with Danielle, produced an exciting range of clothes. Essentially a capsule wardrobe, consisting of sleek lines and classic colours with a modern twist. Most importantly all of it, all fourteen pieces (and this is the best bit) up to a size 32.

There are a couple of other important influencer collaborations too, both worth checking out. Model Aglaë Dreyer and Isabell Decker, stylist and blogger of Dressing Outside the Box.

So let’s talk wish lists … this collection is really versatile. A couple of the tops can actually be worn back to front, giving quite a different look. I love this versatility and the economics of getting two pieces, effectively for the price of one. The most expensive items in the collection are priced at £80 apiece (and of COURSE, those are the ones I’m coveting most), so it’s not ridiculous. These are high quality items, making it even better value.

Top of my personal must-buy list is this plissé colour block dress, in a beautiful sapphire blue. Sometimes at work, I need to wear something more formal than my usual attire and this would be perfect. I would team it with this amazing cropped classic trench. If I was a cartoon character, I would be doing massive heart eyes all over this. I love it so much, it shall be mine…

The complete collection comprises fourteen pieces (six tops, four dresses, a skirt, a pair of culottes, a pair of trousers and the aforementioned jacket of dreams). There is a real mix and match feel, allowing you to create a variety of looks. One of the dresses is scuba material, has sheer sleeves and hood – stylish and cosy, what more could you want?

We love this collection – what are you planning to buy?

XOXO, SMB
