I have little doubt that (if you’re in the world of blogging) you’ll have heard all about a recent scandal within the bloggersphere. A company who had been playing games with our codes (facts exist on this) caused a large stir within the community and had us all questioning our themes. This post won’t be going into the details of the case but you can do a quick search of the hashtag on social and find out quite a bit. A lot of us bloggers had splurged on some lovely themes and can’t quite muster the expense again so soon. So let me help. This post will point you in the direction of some fantastic free themes. Perhaps you had your business website tarnished? Then this theme is perfect for rebuilding a modern yet effective layout. With the main slider, handy icon support and simple theme it’s a good one for any business user.

Minimal Grid by Thememattic 

If like me, you’re REALLY getting into Pinterest. Then this whole situation could cause a rebrand of your blog. If you’re going for more of a statement on images but still want the depth of text then this is a corker of a theme for you. It has the adorable small social icons that really speak ‘cool blog’.

This free theme spoke Travel to me. I figured with the fantastic large slider you could get people dreaming they were in a destination without being there! Both plug ins and the theme itself seem to be updated regularly (last March 2019) and it has 10k installations! Must work for some!

Blacklite Gird By ZThemes Studio

Perhaps you like a bit of everything. A clean, simple layout that displays your images and text effectively. This theme is a wonderful alternative if that’s what floats your boat. I feel like this would work wonderfully for food blogs! Imagine all the meals laid out perfectly.
