I have always loved the idea of travelling, and right at the top of my list for a very long time has been travelling to America. One of the best things about the United States is that it is such a vast country, with different climates and cultures so there are always a variety of reasons to travel. Here are five of my dream destinations in America.

Coney Island
Ever since I was a child, I have wanted to go to Coney Island. Coney Island is actually part of Brooklyn, New York, and is famously a popular tourist destination which is like a giant fairground. There are roller coasters, flashing lights, authentic American street food like corn dogs – what more could you wish for?! I’d also love to catch one of their infamous fireworks shows.
Las Vegas
Las Vegas is definitely considered one of those ‘spur of the moment’ holidays that people take, probably because of its reputation in TV and film as somewhere to have a quickie wedding and win a fortune! In reality, Las Vegas has so much more to offer, and if you’re looking at booking somewhere where there is a healthy mix of gorgeous scenery and exciting things to do, then this is your place. Vegas is located in Nevada, which means some of the most gorgeous desert scenery around, which you would be able to explore throughout your trip for those perfect holiday snapshots.
New Orleans
If you’re looking for culture, food and music, you simply cannot get better than New Orleans. Located in Louisiana and the home of the Mardi Gras carnival, this southern city is the perfect place to go to experience some true, authentic Americana. Immerse yourself in New Orleans by sampling traditional foods, listening to some of the best music that the city has to offer and research local cultures, including a history of voodoo that will leave all tourists wanting to know more.
New York
While lots of people love the idea of New York for reasons like the fashion shows or the hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps, what I would actually want to travel to New York for is something a lot more musical! I’m a total theatre nerd, so I’d love the opportunity to see some real broadways shows and experience some of the best that theatre has to offer. At the top of my to see list right now are Hamilton and Six – what’s on your list?
San Francisco
Hopping over to the other side of the country now, San Francisco in California has always been high up on my list of places to travel to in the United States. Famous for the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco is also the home of good food, some great shopping experiences and weather that you definitely wouldn’t get back at home in the United Kingdom.
