If you love dining out or you are simply looking for a brilliant way to get a little something back every time you treat yourself to a meal, then you are going to want to know about SquareMeal Rewards. We are all looking for those clever little wins that make life feel a bit more affordable and fun at the moment, and a reliable restaurant reward programme is exactly one of those things that quietly adds up in the background without you having to lift a finger.

For me personally, discovering the SquareMeal Rewards scheme has come at the absolute perfect time. If you have been following my updates, you will know that my relationship with food has been on a massive, highly involuntary hiatus for years thanks to some truly miserable gallbladder problems. For over a year, maybe even two, the idea of eating out felt less like a luxury and more like a game of culinary roulette. Thankfully, I am finally on medication, my appetite is back, and I am genuinely so excited to experience the joy of UK restaurants all over again. Naturally, because I am making up for lost time, I have been looking for the best ways to explore new foodie spots, which is precisely how I stumbled across this programme.

In this post, I am going to walk you through exactly how SquareMeal Rewards works, how easy it is to collect points, and how you can use this clever dining loyalty scheme to score some fantastic discounts.

SquareMeal Rewards

What Exactly is SquareMeal Rewards?

SquareMeal is a massive name in the UK dining scene, bringing over 30 years of experience in the casual and fine dining market. They have used that expertise to design the ultimate SquareMeal Rewards restaurant scheme built especially for foodies who want to maximise their dining budget.

In short, it is a completely free restaurant reward programme that allows you to earn points when you book and dine at participating restaurants across the UK. You can then exchange those points for restaurant vouchers to get money off your final bill. It is the perfect excuse to treat yourself to an extra side dish, a fancy cocktail, or that decadent dessert you were pretending you were too full for.

The biggest selling point for me is how incredibly low maintenance it is. If you are already the type of person who checks reviews, looks up menus, and plans your meals out in advance, this fits seamlessly into your routine.

How Do SquareMeal Rewards Work?

There are no awkward QR codes to scan at the table, no physical loyalty cards to clog up your wallet, and absolutely no printing out vouchers before you leave the house. Instead, the SquareMeal Rewards UK system uses a simple three-step process:

  • Join Rewards: You quickly register your usual debit or credit cards to your free SquareMeal account.

  • Dine Out: You automatically receive points every single time you eat at a participating restaurant using that registered card.

  • Earn and Redeem: Watch your points stack up and cash them in for delicious rewards.

It is a true “set it and forget it” system, which means you can just focus on enjoying your food while the technology does the hard work for you in the background.

How to Collect Points with SquareMeal Rewards

The points actually accumulate surprisingly fast because you are rewarded for multiple steps along your dining journey, not just the final bill. If you want to know how to earn SquareMeal Rewards points, here is the exact breakdown:

  • 100 points: Just for joining the SquareMeal Rewards programme.

  • 100 points: For connecting your first debit or credit card to your account.

  • 100 points: Every single time you book a restaurant through their platform.

  • 100 to 3,000+ points: For actually dining out in a participating restaurant.

  • 25 points: For leaving a quick, honest restaurant review to help other foodies.

  • 500 points: If you ever need to book a larger venue for a party or event.

In their system, the maths is nice and straightforward: 100 points equals £1. Because there are so many different ways to trigger these point bonuses, you will see your balance climb much quicker than you might expect.

The Best Perks of the Programme

Aside from the obvious benefit of getting money off your restaurant bills, there are a few other fantastic reasons to consider checking out this dining loyalty app:

  • Personalised Offers: If you tell them a little bit about your food preferences, you will receive tailored SquareMeal dining offers. It acts like a curated restaurant guide sent straight to your inbox, matching your mood, location, and taste.

  • Unique Restaurant Discounts: Their restaurant partners create exclusive offers specifically for SquareMeal diners. This means you get access to secret special offers you won’t find anywhere else, ranging from group dining discounts to early bird deals.

  • Rewards for Trying Somewhere New: You are genuinely rewarded just for being adventurous. If you become a member, you will earn bonus points for visiting a restaurant you have never been to before.

  • Perks for Regular Diners: If you are someone who sticks to your favourites, you haven’t been forgotten. If you eat out regularly, you can unlock bonus points and discounts simply for visiting your absolute favourite local haunts time and time again.

If this sounds like something that would fit perfectly into your lifestyle, you can head over to the official SquareMeal Rewards website to take a look around. There is absolutely no pressure to sign up, but if you love food as much as I do, it is a lovely little freebie to have in your back pocket.

Oooh, I’ve never heard of SquareMeal Rewards. Sadly they don’t do my area (York/Sheffield) but we sometimes visit Edinburgh, Manchester, and London to see friends!

So in Edinburgh it would be: Badger & Co – you can’t go to Edinburgh and not enjoy twists on classic Scottish cuisine.

Manchester: Tampopo Corn Exchange! I love Eastern variety!

London: L’oscar Restaurant – upper scale, because when in London it’s all about getting glam and enjoying a treat… and this would definitely be an occasion to dress up and enjoy some excellent grub!

I’d hope they expand a bit, to include the likes of York and Sheffield in, too.

Claro in London as it caters to vegans/vegetarians and eating less meat at the moment appeals. It probably would be a post double birthday/cast removal party as we’ve both not been 100%

Been looking for a new spot for our regular pub quiz team having recently moved north of the river – Bald Faced Stag looks like a great option and only a short walk away! Can’t wait to try! Get ready to lose, Staggers… 🙂

I’d choose Carriages Tea Rooms. It looks amazing and it would be like going back in time. It would definitely be something a bit different
