Plus Size Highlights of 2018

The Yours Clothing 2017 Awards were announced in 2018 and the winners were sent beautiful glass awards. Winners included our very own Georgina Grogan for Outstanding Achievement in The Plus Size Industry, as well as Chloe Pierre, Grace F Victory, Michelle Elman, Callie Thorpe and many more.

Yours Clothing #takethepledge to love yourself campaign was a huge hit with a life drawing, featuring bloggers Hollie from Pretty Big Butterflies, Kat Henry, and What Laura Loves.

Marks and Spencers launched a plus size range with Danielle Vanier as the face of it, including two beautiful dress designs by Danielle.

Pretty Little Thing finally launched a plus size range.

Bustle created their own beauty campaigns with plus size bloggers.

Not only did Navabi do their own ‘beach body ready campaign’ but they also stuck it on a huge billboard and drove it around London. Featuring Bethany Rutter, Stephanie Yeboah, and Lauren Tallulah.

The first Arched Eyebrow x Navabi collection launched as part of Navabi’s Influencer Collections and it was a huge hit.

Snag Tights has taken the plus size world by storm. Using a size positive campaign, including Callie Thorpe, everyone is talking about how affordable and amazing their tights are.

ChloeinCurve won the Blogosphere Fashion Influencer Of The Year! 


Navabi showed us the winners of their Global Talent Fund which awards people with grants to create things, like this awesome music video. Featuring Navabi clothing too!


Curvy Kate #MyBodyVictory Campaign featured Hayley Hasselhoff, and plus size Youtuber, Chanel Ambrose.

Interrobang Art proved that bigger retailers really have no excuse as she told the world all of her designs go from a size 6-36.

Gloria Shuri Henry in her first editorial shoot for the breath-taking designer Rosie Red Corsets. Probably the most stunning photos of the year?

Pretty much every plus blogger has posted photos in the Playful Promises x Gabi Fresh collection. Playful Promises continues to be incredible across their platforms, fighting off the trolls and continuing to post people of every shape, size, gender, ethnicity, and ability.

Even though Oasis Curve have been selling on the Simply Be site for years, they launched a curve range fully in September. With Lauren Nicole modelling, the collection has been a huge hit.

Three Queens by Linda Blacker was a serious highlight of the year. With the beautiful Scarred Not Scared, Stephanie Yeboah and Lottie L’amour starring in these mesmerising shots.

Sculptresse AW18 Lingerie Launch featured plus bloggers Charli Russon, Em Smyth, Lauren Dunge, and Georgina Horne, in a bold but natural campaign.

Stephanie Yeboah and Lottie L’amour talked about the pay gap between overweight workers and straight size workers with Linkedin, which was then featured in Insider!


Blogosphere featured Stephanie Yeboah in a huge spread of their latest edition. November was also the month that Steph became a freelancer!

ChloeinCurve shines whilst modelling for mainstream handbag company, Fiorelli.

Lucia from U Can’t Wear That was published by the Independent Online talking about Rebel Wilson and black women. had an article published in the Independent online

Bloggers signed an open letter to the British High Street about their plus size ranges, or lack of, in stores. This included Callie ThorpeLouise O’ReillyTess HollidayMichelle ElmanLauren NicoleBethany RutterJada SezerLaura CaponChloe ElliottLottie L’amourAmy HarrisonOlivia Campbell, and Grace Victory.

It’s a little difficult to talk about Curve Fashion Festival without bringing the tone of this post down, but it did open up some great discussion of accessibility at events in the future, and about diversity at events too. Let’s hope in 2019, these issues have been addressed.

I’m not sure exactly when Georgina Horne and Hayley from Curves’n’Curls announced their upcoming collection with Voodoo Vixen, but it’s safe to say we all know it’s happening and we’re super excited!

Calvin Klien go plus and feature Olakemii! Not only is it a big deal that they’ve launched plus sizes, but they reposted plus size model Olakemii and the amount of likes speaks volumes. Love this!

Last but certainly not least, at the very end of the year Topsy Curvy, a brand we all know and love, launched their own slogan tee range in up to a size 34! They’ve always talked about being inclusive and this really shows that they mean it!
