4 Ways to Save Space in Your Bedroom
I love giving my home a makeover. Whether I’m giving it a lick of paint to freshen things up, or I’m totally reorganising my space, constantly changing my home is one of my favourite ways to stop myself feeling stagnant. However, because I have quite a small bedroom, I sometimes find that I am limited in how much I can move things around. I have become quite the expert in making the most of small spaces, and finding extra ways to save myself some space so that I can use it for something else, so I thought I would share some of these tips with you. Here are four ways to save space in your bedroom.

Have wardrobes designed for your space
Every home is different, which means that every home is going to have different ways that the space is distributed. If your bedroom is on the smaller side you might have trouble finding larger items like wardrobes to fit comfortably within the space, which can be stressful and frustrating. That’s why getting bespoke fitted wardrobes could be a great way for you to get exactly what you need, and know that it is custom built to fit within the space that you have available. This way your wardrobes will fit neatly and you won’t have to worry about anything jutting out into the room or taking up additional space.
Get yourself a different bed
Your bed is probably going to be the piece of furniture that takes the most amount of floor space in your bedroom, so using it as a place for storage is a fantastic way to make the most out of your available space. There are all kinds of different storage beds – you could simply put things on the floor underneath metal beds, or there are beds with built in drawers, or ones where all of the slats come up to reveal a large storage box underneath. If you are plus size, make sure you check the weight limits as some slatted storage bed may have a lower weight limit and while it is important to save space, it is more important to be safe.
Don’t be afraid to use higher up spaces
If you look around the room that you are in right now, chances are you will find that the top foot or two of the wall space actually looks quite blank. We tend to put shelving somewhere that we can easily reach things so that it is more accessible, but if you installed some higher up shelves you could find homes for the things that you don’t need to access very often, creating space in the area that you actually use. Another way to make use of the top of your walls if you have a cat is to create shelves, tunnels and scratching areas for them higher up. Cats love having their own space, and you’ll get your own room too because you won’t have a cat tree taking up space on your floor.
Use built in shelving for your shoes
Storing your shoes can take up a lot of space, and they always end up spilling off the shoe rack and onto the floor. This leads to you tripping over your shoes, makes your room look untidy and just isn’t a great use of space. Instead, you could use some built in shelving like the kind that you find when you navigate here, like a grid style shelf so that each pair of shoes has its own space. That way you won’t have a shoe rack taking up precious floor space, and your bedroom stays neat and in order.
