She Might Be Spotlight: Michelle Chantelle Hopewell

Michelle Chantelle Hopewell
Long, I know!
26 turning 27. Late 20s here I come.
Where do you live?

What do you do for a living?
I’m an actor. 50% jazz hands. 50% Shakespearean text.
How long have you been blogging?
Since I was 18. It all started off on Facebook notes and moved to tumblr and I’d say I’ve been blogging seriously the last couple of years.
What made you start blogging?
Writing is just an extension of the fact I talk too much. So it started with anything related to fantasy and science fiction and slowly but surely merged into everything and anything.

Who do you admire in the blogging world?
Stephanie Yeboah and Gabi Gregg thoroughly rock my boat.
What’s your favourite post on your blog?
I’m not sure if I have a favourite post but anytime I’m real about my life or how I’m feeling, it makes me incredibly happy to know someone else out there might feel the same and therefore feel less alone.
Show us a favourite outfit?
Me in the red crushed velvet off the shoulder in the style curve dress ready to snatch your man and make him my Butler.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a doctor, a lawyer, a historian, a novelist and an actor. Sure glad the latter won out!
Do you have any pets?
I do not but fluffy things are the best.
What does She Might Be mean to you?
She Might Be means the opportunity to connect with articulate, intelligent, fierce and gorgeous women who are not afraid to own their space and their bodies. I am learning from them all everyday and I am so grateful for how encouraging they all are! It’s also an opportunity to showcase black bodies in the performing industry!

Anything exciting coming up we should look out for from you?
I have a shoot this Thursday with a wee primark haul showing the challenge of plus bodies shopping at regular high street brands but slaying regardless because obviously.
