Halloween is fast approaching. For some of us, that means Halloween parties, or perhaps a spot of trick or treating. For me, it’s an excuse to lie down on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket, with a big bowl of sweet & salty popcorn at my side (with Minstrels mixed in – it’s a taste sensation), to watch films. And, as I’m always looking for inspiration, I thought i’d ask the rest of the She Might Be team what their spookalicious (think I just made up a word) favourites are.
When I was younger, I used to love horror films – the scarier, the better! Now, I get nervous after a particularly nerve-jangling episode of Cold Case, so my Halloween film of choice is, of course, The Nightmare Before Christmas (which I will then watch on a weekly basis until Christmas).
Kitty: Cube – it’s a lesser known sci-fi horror film, but it gets me every time. Strangers wake up in a cube, within a cube, and they have to work together to try to get out because the cubes are booby trapped. It chills me every time! Every person within the cube is there for a reason
Sophie: I like snuggling down to some re-runs of Trapdoor. Not a film, but gives you Halloween vibes all the same! And, of course, Addams Family Values and Casper give me 90s nostalgia. This season of American Horror Story is my favourite so far, and I am loving The Purge (series) and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina this year.
Leanda: Can I have two favourites? I love Scream and Hocus Pocus, for very different reasons!
Daisy: Does Ghost count? I love Ghost.
Now, if you don’t mind, I’m off to find Trapdoor episodes on YouTube! How about you, dear readers? Do you have a favourite film for this time of year? Please share your top Halloween picks in the comments!
