When it comes to our bedrooms, it’s vital we love that little space in our homes. We actually spend a third of our life sleeping. Crikey, I know?! So it really is a large part of our lives. Oh and hands up if, like me you also retreat there for a good ole duvet day or a bit of ‘Netflix and chill’. Therefore it’s so important that we practice making this space as happy a place as we can. Here are my three easy tips for improving your bedroom.
Number 1: Think Light
One of the most important things to create a comfortable and happy space for me is the lighting quality. My bedroom had previously suffered from being a pretty dark space. One in which I’d retreat and just pass out in. There’s a lot to be said about the quality of light in each of your rooms and the effect it has on your mood. Now, with the addition of these gorgeous ceiling pendant lights, I have a modern, quirky aesthetic to my bedroom. Room to Sleep actually offer a full stunning range of lighting, from lamps to pendants. I can’t state enough how much adding fresh lights has improved the whole atmosphere in here. I’m now more likely to spend time in my bedroom other than for sleep. My little sanctuary has literally been lit up with these extremely sturdy, well built lights (you can pick up these exact ones for Room to Sleep each). If you’re not wanting Pendant lights, you can pick up some very similar modern styled lamps at Room to Sleep for reasonable prices.
Number 2: Think Environment
Happy world, happy life? I’ve previously written a post on easy ways to consider the environment in changes you make, but here’s one for your bedrooms. That’s right, you can have an impact on the world by making choices. Even with the smallest of budgets, you can think green. For example, did you know you can actually purchase a cardboard bed now?! I know right! Happy Beds now offer this extremely cost effective, environmentally considerate bed at £99. It’s the same cost for any size of bed. The cardboard is 100% recyclable and they promise it’s made from at least 70% recycled paper fibers. The remaining percentage is thankfully from sustainable forestry. It turns up flat packed, making it easy to get up your stairs or into those awkward spaced rooms. You can have it up and ready to go in less than a minute. Oh and don’t think you have to slack on the aesthetics. It’s available in Happy Beds. Oh and did I mention it’s a vegan product?
Number 3: Think comfort
New duvet, new pillows, new bedding. Whatever floats your boat. I find freshening up these parts of my bedroom really make a big difference to my quality of sleep. After all your bedroom is MAINLY for sleeping. You can pick up duvet covers pretty reasonably now, and get a fantastic range of choice in many stores. I usually opt for quite simplistic patterns or go EXTREMELY bold. So it’s all down to personal choice! Oh and best of all, you can change these with the seasons if you wanna get festive. Don’t think I don’t have Christmas Bedding or Spring Bedding. I totally do.
