For every parent, safety is at the top priority when it comes to car seats. I had Jasper in a nice snug car seat since day one, it rated highly for all the important things but although the booklets said it lasted till 18 months, I could see he was starting to grow out of it by 8 months. I’d had issues with it really since day 1. He’d cry and wriggle as if he were uncomfortable and it made me reluctant to take him anywhere in the car. I’d begun to doubt how long it would last me as Jasper quickly grew to the suggested head height for safety. As with most products for babies, longevity seemed to be lacking. On my hunt for a new car seat, I discovered Maxi-Cosi Titan Pro. A car seat which advertised over 11 years of use. Was it too good to be true? Had I finally found a product with some sort of lasting quality?
As the newest Edition to the Maxi-Cosi family it had high expectations. Their other products (such as the pebble) rated highly on all forums. Compared my my Cybex it seemed to overcome all the hurdles I’d been facing. A GrowSafe headrest, to adjust as your baby gets bigger, some fancy-smancy innovative, crash-absorbing G-Cell technology that improves side impact protection, adjustable seat backing to grow as your little one develops. Everything I needed!
I love that the Maxi-Cosi Titan Pro introduces the concept of this ‘GrowSafe’ technology. Not only does the headrest adjust as your baby does, but your belt system ensures your child’s safety is number one priority. Perfect for us worried mums and dads.
If you’ve shopped as many car seats as me, you’ll know all about the ISOFIX bases. I’ve been a big fan of this as with my first car seat. It made it so easy to remove the full seat when requested and ensure a safe and easy connection into the car. Simply extend the legs at the bottom of the seat and slot in. Use the clip to attach to your towing belt at the back and pull tight. A little green tab pops up to let you know you’ve done this just right. However, if you are a worrier, then pop along to a free car seat safety check at your local Halfords or parenting stores to get it signed off.
Let’s talk colours and comfort. It comes in three colours, a classic black, beautiful blue and a daring red. Meaning you can customise it to suit your personal style. It can also be shaped into three different reclining positions (something lacking in lots of car seats) so your little one is sure to travel in style. It comes with a detachable cup holder. I popped Jasper’s juice in this and a spare dummy and it’s been much easier for long journeys. He’s able to reach and quench his thirst without me panicking about finding somewhere to pull over to help him.
I think finding a car seat is so important, nowadays we spend so much time in our cars. Commuting to work, driving to see family or making those important holiday trips. For me, it’s important that I know Jasper is comfortable for this. Within a few days of using the Maxi-Cosi Titan Pro, I’d become completely relaxed knowing he was happy to be in his seat.
