Traveling is something that is good for us all in so many ways, and we should definitely be doing more of it.
However, when we go to places we typically bring back what’s known as a souvenir, and whilst this is great it’s also sometimes going to be the case that one place will capture your heart more than another or will provide you with very special memories that you would like to keep with you.
In this case, then you may want to consider opting for a different souvenir over the typical mugs and fridge magnets that many people seem to accumulate, and whilst there’s certainly nothing wrong with these things, the other issue is if you travel a lot and then move from country to country, then you may find that you have too many souvenirs to carry around with you and this can get quite cluttered, so in this post we’re going to share with you some of the creative ways that you can remember your travels without them taking lots of space up in your luggage or at home.
Whilst we’re certainly not suggesting that you go on a shopping spree in every country that you visit, it’s always nice to perhaps buy something that is of cultural significance in one of the countries where you really found you enjoyed, for example, many countries in the Middle East have certain styles of clothing that you may have found very inspiring and you may want to take one of these with you when you leave to remember your travels.
Tattoos & Piercings:
Getting something like a tattoo or helix piercing in every country you go to is certainly not something that we recommend since this is already a big step in deciding to get one of these. However, if you find that a country particularly captured your heart, then there’s perhaps nothing wrong with getting a smaller piercing or a small tattoo to remember that place by as long as you don’t go overboard and decide to get one in every place that you go if you’re someone who travels a lot.
Accessories such as handbags or perhaps even shoes and other items that you can carry around lightly and that won’t take up too much space, but that you can actually use in your daily life, for example, decor for your house from different countries can also be good souvenirs that may serve a practical purpose as well and won’t take up too much space in one area of your house.
As we mentioned above, souvenirs are often seen as things like postcards, fridge magnets, and mugs, however, you can definitely find other kinds of souvenirs that are perhaps a little less touristy and of more significance culturally, so these are things that you could definitely consider getting to remember your trips by. For example, you could buy things like herbs and spices, tea or other items that you find inspiring on your travels that you could take as a souvenir that most people would perhaps overlook.
