Cashback With A Twist

I’m kind of obsessed with the idea of cashback. I honestly don’t think I’ve bought anything online in the last year or so that I haven’t at least tried to claim cashback for, and it seems so unusual to me that there are still people who don’t know that the option for claiming cashback exists. The premise is simple: buy the things you were always going to buy, but buy them through an approved cashback website. That website is then going to give you a designated percentage of the cost of any approved purchase back. It can’t be more straightforward than that, right? I have considered myself an expert for quite some time, and have managed to earn myself almost £1000 across cashback sites (just don’t ask me how much I’ve had to spend to get there!) over the last few years. And yet I have only just found myself being introduced to the UK cashback website that changes the face of cashback entirely because you are actually given the opportunity to win your entire shop for free.

Boom25 is almost like an online shopping and online gambling hybrid – which, let’s be honest, sounds pretty fun in itself. Each store which is affiliated with the website will present you with a number – say, ‘every 8th wins’, or ‘every 25 wins’. You guessed it! If you are the 25th (or 50th, etc) person to shop on an ‘every 25 wins’ purchase then you are entitled to the entire cost of your shopping spree returned to you, fewer fees, which will be paid promptly into your PayPal account upon approval of your transaction.

While I love that traditional cashback websites give you the opportunity to get something back with every single purchase, the amounts can be really tiny. My cashback percentages tend to start at around 0.3%, with 10% of my purchase back feeling like a real treat. It is consistent, but it is nominal. Boom25 brings a bit of spice to your shopping trip because you have the potential to spend £££ on something you were already going to buy (and I really would urge you to only use cashback websites on things you were actually going to buy anyway, or you might as well just save your money!) and win almost every penny back. I found the idea of that really exciting and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in. Boom25 proudly report on their homepage that their largest payoutcashback so far is £4,225; while I really wish I was the kind of person who was going to be dropping that amount of money in one sitting, I can see that they are not shy in handing back huge amounts to their members. I love the idea that somebody might scrimp and save for a new bedroom set for their kids, for example, and end up getting the whole amount returned to them so that they can really treat themselves as a result. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using Boom25 and, while I haven’t been able to win anything just yet, I’m eager to give them another whirl on my next shopping spree.
