This time of year is one of my favourites, because it’s full of heart-shapes and romance wherever you look. Not only is there Valentine’s Day, but there’s something about cold nights cuddling up to a loved one that just makes you feel good. Following on from my post about date night ideas for Valentine’s Day, I thought I would share ideas for a few more locations across the UK – all of them are perfect for when your usual date night is looking a little bit stagnant.
I gave Scotland and England all of my attention in my last post, so I thought I would kick things off with some top places in the Cardiff dating scene (sorry, Northern Ireland! Maybe next time!). What I love about the way Cardiff dating looks is that there is nature and culture literally right there for the taking. If you and your date are outdoorsy people, or you fancy stepping outside of your comfort zone, then trying out the City Safari from Planet Wales is definitely worth a shot. There’s nothing that makes date night more special than seeing something breathtakingly beautiful together; neither of you will ever forget it.
Devon is one of my favourite places in the UK, so I knew I was going to need to share some Devon dating ideas! Sure, you could meander along the beach and watch the sunset together – or you can do something a little bit weird on your next date night, and head over to the Gnome Reserve! This is definitely another outdoosy date night option, but I love the idea of cuddling up to your date so you can both sqeeze in to a selfie with a giant gnome. Perfect for bonding over a few chuckles!
I’ve only ever been to Lincoln once, so I definitely had to do a bit of nosing around to find the perfect date night idea for Lincolnshire dating. Though a night at the cinema is pretty standard date night fodder, I found Kinema in the Woods and actually loved the idea of it. Kinema in the Woods is the only cinema left in the UK that still uses back projection, and is super old fashioned. There is even a resident organist who plays in the intervals! From May onwards there is an outdoor cinema also, so this is definitely one to keep in mind for future date night plans.
And finally, another beach location – I’m wrapping up by looking at some Kent dating ideas! You can definitely take advantage of being right next to the ocean on your next date night, either by enjoying a romantic river boat tour of Canterbury or doing something a little bit more intensive and donning your life jacket on a sea safari across Dover. You’re definitely never going to forget either one!
