I’m often terrible for forgetting to accessorise, an accessory can really transform an outfit, but with summer coming I am inspired. Less layers mean I look to accessories to really bring an outfit together and make it more interesting and detailed. So here are some of my favourite accessories that I’ve seen lately that could really make your look pop!
This fantastic tiger paws necklace from Sugar & Vice is a truly quirky piece that is bound to turn heads! I can see this styled with a shirt as an eye catching collar piece, or with a simple black dress to be the star of the show. For a big unusual necklace, I think this is really versatile. One of the things I love about Sugar & Vice is that they offer all their necklaces in 16″, 18″ and 24″ lengths, so there is no worrying that you’ll need a necklace extender. They also offer their chains in a variety of finishes so if, like me, gold tones aren’t your jam you can opt for silver or black or gunmetal too. They are an amazing independent brand you should check out if you like your accessories to do the talking for you.
Plus Equals have launched a whole collection of chokers, but this rainbow sequin affair is my favourite. It’s available in a variety of colour ways and ties up with a ribbon around the back of your neck, so it will fit any neck size. Plus Equals are another indie brand making sure their wares are for everyone!
Bold waist belts are making a come back and after seeing this one on Georgina Horne I want it! It’s a caged design that could be added to a dress or t-shirt and be so on trend. It’s faux leather and available in a size 16-30.
My absolute must have for summer is a giant pair of sunglasses. My favourite sunglasses brand is Quay Australia, and I’m loving the Muse Fade design. I suffer from chronic headaches and migraines so sunglasses can’t be too weighty for me or I can’t wear them, but I always find Quay Australia ones to be surprisingly light considering their over sized frames. The faded design is so fun and a real early 2000’s throwback. They remind me of Anastasia and make me want to sing ‘I’m outta love!’.
And my final must have summer accessory is a good backpack! I love this Skinny Dip London Palm Backpack and it’s holographic material. Skinny Dip are known for their shell cross body bags, but I love a good backpack in the summer and this is just perfect.
